Points to Ponder

Questions to explore the inner world.

One of the best ways to explore both the outer and inner world is to ask questions.  Sometimes the answers might surprise you!

May ponderings never cease.  Continue the inner exploration with others on our KitchenTableWisdom Blog where we can engage in conversation.

Previous Ponderings

  • Why is the popular phrase "the sun finally came out" instead of "the clouds finally moved away?"

  • Consider there is one idea or belief that you do not know, the knowing of which would change everything.  What would it be?
  • If you knew you were currently living the past life of a future existence, and everything unresolved now will be carried into that future ... what would you change in a heartbeat?
  • What is truly at the root of all your fears?

  • What is bothering you the most right now?  What steps are you taking to change that?
  • What are you putting off?  How much more energy and effort will you need to spend if you deal with it later?
  • If everything before now is history, how can there be pre-history?
  • What are you waiting for?  What is waiting for you?

  • Why is common sense so rare?

  • Allow yourself to be totally egotistical, self-centered and full of yourself in answering this question ... what is the grandest, greatest, boldest life you intend for yourself?
  • Why do we call the cows we eat beef and the pigs we eat pork?
  • Why does Canada's current governing party have to wait for a stricter accountability bill to be approved by the Senate before it can hold itself to a higher standard?
  • If the only constant is change, why do we fight so hard to keep things the way they are?

  • What change could you begin to create in the world with 10,000 pennies?
  • What dramas are you currently creating or tied into?  What would happen if you let the dramas go?
  • From what "job" do you need to fire yourself so you can get on with it.
  • What ideal are you trying to live while ignoring the present?
  • If you were guaranteed no one else would ever find out, what do you most need to stop denying to yourself.

  • Would you do what you desire to do if you weren't paid any money?  Would you do what you desire to do if you never received any recognition?
  • What do you have to give of yourself?  What do you desire to give of yourself?
  • What choice(s) do you continue to make that prevent you from living the life you desire?  What boat do you need to burn so there is no going back?

  • Are you doing things to get what you want, or are you doing things because it's what you want to do?
  • What is peaceful about a peace rally held in protest?  When was the last time a peace rally was held in times of peace?

  • When did difference come to mean division, being different meant being divided?
  • How did something opposite turn into the opposition?
  • Where did the money come from to help the victims of natural disasters when the money wasn't available before to help the same people when they were just poor?

  • What is the deepest Truth from which you are being asked to live?
  • Who will you be when you stop trying to be who you think you are?  (from "Compassion in Action" )
  • In the game of Life, are you playing to win or not to lose?
  • If you are currently living the past life of a future life, then what?
  • Of all your beliefs, how many are truly your own rather than somebody else's?  If you could keep only a single belief from each of your mother and father, what would they be?
  • Considering all of your possessions, if you had to pay someone to store them, what possession would you store and how much would you pay?
