I first saw Jennifer Lin on Oprah in April of 2006 when she was 16 years old. Not only is she an amazingly talented pianist, she is an equally incredible composer. I was blown away – and get taken away every time I see it – by her improvisational compositions.
I call it divine inspiration and being in the flow. No rehearsals, no polish, no do-overs.

I must be getting old. Or wise. Or both. Starting in on our renovation projects over the past couple of months I feel like I’ve really started to “get it”.
The biggest difference between these reno projects and those in our last house is me. I find myself being totally in the moment – and truly understanding the experience of being in the moment. I’m not in a rush anymore to get things done (for the most part!) and I’m not thinking ahead to the next project. I feel like I’m truly here, now. continue →
