New Model To Save Auto Industry

As GM goes, so goes the nation.

This worries me.  Not because General Motors has gone into bankruptcy protection … or the plant closures … or the permanently lost jobs.  There is no doubt these are all bad signs.

What worries me most is GM restructuring to become “sustainable”.  The CEO using buzz word doesn’t mean they have changed their underlying business model.  The same model that got them into this mess in the first place.

Focus On The Environment – Which One?

Consider the implications of Wilson’s Law (a working hypothesis of Edward O Wilson):

“If you save the living environment, the biodiversity that we have left, you will also automatically save the physical environment, too … If you only save the physical environment, you will ultimately lose both.”

What would have to change to refocus our attention and efforts on our living environment instead of our physcial environment?
