Are emotions and feelings the same thing?
They are slightly different. As is being. You have asked about that before.
A feeling is an indication or outcome of the way you are being. An emotion is a further outcome of that.
A fine line really.
They say emotion is energy in motion.
You can say that – or not.
Energy in motion is a misnomer because there is no time when energy is not in motion.
To say energy in motion as a state is to imply there is a state also of energy not in motion. That is not so.
Energy in motion is redundant then.
True. Energy is never not in motion.
Although, what you perceive as energy in motion is a change in amplitude and a change in state.
You tend to define emotion as an outward expression and feeling as inward experience.
The same feeling can be expressed in many different ways.
That’s where the confusion comes in. There is no set, cut and dried way to express anything.
Your society in particular has created rules you never talk about with regards to how to outwardly express yourself.
What you end up doing is to either hold it all up inside or to cut yourself off.
Holding your experience inside is like holding water behind a dam. You are trying to hold back or contain or control the uncontrollable.
Energy flows.
It cannot not move.
The pressure you create will at some point become too great. And to you it feels like an undesirable bursting forth.
Let it flow.
Experience what is waiting to be expressed. For the worst thing you can do is to cut yourself off from experiencing at all.
Then you have lost life. You are the walking dead.
Don’t try to suppress what you call the bad or negative feelings and don’t try to over amplify or covet what you call the good feelings.
Let it be just as you let yourself be.
Explore and have fun. Create and experiment.
Do not avoid and run.
Be here. Fully. Now.
