Bee-Do’s

MAP

I was thinking last night we should have some fun with this, maybe even a little mischievous.

You already are.  This question is whether you do.

Do what?

Do what you be.

Does that make me a do-bee?

Only if you are.

More likely though you will receive great benefit from bee-do.

Be first.  Do what expresses your being.  And you will have great benefit from being you.  You will have the life you have always desired.

I’m not clear on how being happy for instance, will get me all the way to a big house on the beach.

But that is not what you desire.  You do not desire that anyway.

You don’t care about that so you won’t do the things that will express how  much you care and therefore not have a house on the beach.

I know.  I was using it as an example.

What do you care about?

Being open.  Being quiet.

Let’s use those.  Caring, open, quiet.

When you are caring, open and quiet, what do you do?

Stay away from crowds.  Read.  Ponder.  Spend time with good friends.  Watch birds and squirrels.  Sit with the cats.

And what do you get from doing those things?

Let’s see.  Less stress.  More awareness of myself.  Greater connection.

I’d also say I feel joy and freedom in just being there.  And more open, more of who I am.

Because you have more awareness of yourself.

The circle cycles back unto itself.

If you wanted less stress in your life, what would you do?

That’s a tough question.  I have a harder time thinking about what is de-stressing.

It’s stressful to think of de-stressing.

Pick something.

Let’s say I’ll read a book.

And how do you feel?  How do you be when you read?

Depends.  Tired sometimes, full brained, excited and curious, involved.

I notice you didn’t say open and quiet, or caring.

You’re right.  Seems trying to think of what I want is tough enough, but to think of what I need to do to make that happen is tougher yet, and a moving target.

I won’t necessarily end up where I wanted to.

That is correct. You will discover what you want are feelings, not things.

You want to experience feelings because you ultimately want to experience yourself, who you are.

Things are only a means of evoking feelings.  Things are only a means of being yourself – albeit a long and very roundabout way that gets you no further ahead.

We sort of know this.

But you do not demonstrate this knowing.

You keep doing rather than being.  You keep seeking to have before you are clear on who you are.

You think figuring out what to do is tough?  You don’t even want to touch the question of who you are.

You are hiding from yourself what you know beyond knowing.

After you stop hiding, when you declare who you are, when you get naked for you to see – the rest is easy.  Very easy.

The time has come to drop away the do-bee and live the life of a bee-do.
