Here Is There

MAP

Why is it we focus on what’s here?

Because it has the most potential to kill you.

Or at least it did.  Not so much anymore.

Except there are many times focusing on here does kill us inside because we keep going around and around.

Stop seeing everything as a problem that needs to be solved.  Take things as they are.

Pick your battles so to speak – do you want to change this here or not?

Ask yourself [this] of everything as a starting point and you will shift your experience.

What about things like grief – of course we want to get out of there as fast as possible.

And sometimes changing where we are is the fastest route to remaining exactly where we are.

There is nothing wrong with grief or anger or pain.  They just are.

Experiences.

Have you ever heard somebody say they wouldn’t change a painful experience for anything?

Yes.

Why do you think that is?

Because something came from that experience that would have been missed if they hadn’t stuck around or stuck it out.

Denying a situation is not changing it.

Denial is only delaying.

Sometimes the fastest route out of anywhere is to just be in it and let the natural flow carry you.

Nobody said life was going to be easy or pleasant.

But that’s why you came here, to experience a wide range of things.

Think of going on a vacation.

Do you sit in your room the entire time and then say you had a great time and experienced so many things you never had before?

Most likely not.

And don’t kid yourself into believing you are experiencing so much if you do the same things over and over again.

Staying in the same place, doing the same things time after time is no more experiencing than sitting in your room is.

Sure, there are things you really like to do – so do them.  But don’t play your life safe. That is entirely different.

Great pleasure is not the same as great safety.

Even if you like something with immense pleasure every time, switch it up, try something new.

You can always go back and repeat later.

Take a look at what you truly want to change and that which is just is for the moment.

Sometimes the biggest gift you can receive is in simply doing nothing.  Accept this is just where you are right now and that is an experience in itself.

Instead of taking the route of “it too shall pass” you can shift your view towards “in this too I shall see“.

Become the director rather than the avoider.  That is an immense shift in how you experience the world.

But to direct does not mean you rule your life with an iron fist of control.  You will end up just as quickly right where you are.

Navigate the waters you are in with a light hand on the wheel – or rudder – whichever you prefer.

This allows you to feel the nuances below, above and around you that you could not detect otherwise.

Being here is there to someone else.

Use that knowledge to your fullest.

And enjoy.
