Okay – if being who we are is natural and normal then why do we feel vulnerable and the need to protect ourselves?
Being who you are is not normal. Your natural state is not your normal state.
Think of what you have done to nature to make it not normal.
Natural is uncomfortable for you for extended periods of time, yet you have to return to nature, almost driven to return to nature.
You make me think of golf courses, especially where they put them in the middle of a natural area, forest or “wilderness” and then get upset when “critters” invade.
That is one such example of making nature not normal. There are many others.
So why do we do this? Why do we avoid ourselves?
Because this is the game you decided to play, to evolve from something you are clearly not into something you know you are.
Right now you are in the transition phase of one stage to another. You have gone through this before and you will again.
Vulnerable is a good sign, a sign you are headed in the right direction.
Why do you say this?
Because it shows you what you are trying to protect, what you hold dear, what is most important to you to survive.
Before this was your physical body. Your life was at stake.
You were vulnerable because you either lived or died. Your existence depended on it.
And you would fight with all your might.
Now what you find vulnerable is who you are, the spark of light within you.
You are well aware you have moved past the physical choice of live or die – at least for most of you on this planet.
Now what you define as live or die is how comfortable you are or satisfied with your life.
That is a whole different level.
For some of you that is a material or physical question of a different kind. Still to do with the physicalness of your body but not at the level of live or die.
You will not cease to exist if you do not get what you want, but you will not be happy if you don’t.
For others the physical satisfaction is not enough and you base your happiness or satisfaction on how you feel inside.
That is a big shift from living solely based on the outside.
When you live from the inside you are driven to become more and more of who you are. Once you have a taste of you there is no putting it back or on hold, at least without a lot of effort.
It never really goes away even if you do the best ignore it with all your might.
You will always come forward in the least expected place at the least expected time.
So all you need to do is switch.
Instead of putting all your effort into hiding who you are, into forgetting, put that same effort and diligence into not letting anything or any thought get in the way of being who you are.
Except you have to pay attention in the latter case. Hiding and forgetting come naturally. You don’t have to think about it.
Hiding and forgetting who you are is not natural; it is normal and a habit. Habits are not natural, they are learned.
Know the difference.
You keep asking about being vulnerable, why we feel vulnerable when we are ourselves.
Okay, you caught me.
Because it is a thought you hold. Change your thought.
For so long you have lived in this system of safe-or-danger, life-or-death. Let your guard down and you will die. You are here so it must have worked.
This is all learned. This is all habit.
There is nothing wrong with this. It worked for you and was clearly part of the game.
But now the rules have changed.
You are aware of much more than you were before.
You do not have to rely on your physical body to survive. You do not have to rely on the cunning of your mind to survive.
You are becoming aware, but not to the stage of belief, that there is nothing you have to do to survive. You will not die.
That blows the game wide open.
You cannot be vulnerable in being who you are because no harm can be done to you. You have more power within than you do without.
That is what you hold onto – a belief that your outer world of body and mind is more powerful than your inner world of being you, spirit, light.
This is the transition you are going through now – just as you moved from body to mind, now you are moving from body-mind to spirit.
You do not need your body and mind to protect you, your spirit, your light.
Your light, your spirit, you, will protect your body and mind.
That is a monumental shift and will take some time.
And it is not the end but the beginning. For after that comes the idea that protection is no longer needed at all.
Protection keeps you separate from one another and does not draw you together as you like to believe.
All of these changes and more you will move through – and more rapidly than you will believe.
For some you will wake up and not recognize the world around you.
Like a person coming out of prison after 30 years. The world now is vastly different than 30 years ago and I have lived through it.
Yes, this is true. These changes will happen regardless of where you are and how much you know about it.
Awareness, or lack of it, does not stop change, but it does impact your experience of change.
Connect with your power, your light, and move forward from there.
You will come to no harm. There is no need to be safe.
Let go of those notions for they no longer serve you and, in fact, do more to hold you back.
Vulnerability is an idea or thought of the past.
