Giving Up The Guard

Stop fighting. Need I remind you?

The idea of relaxing into yourself, just letting go does not come naturally.

When you have these moments of just being you, giving in, letting go – you realize what it feels like to finally relax, to not be on guard.

And then feel vulnerable and tense up once again.

Pay attention to this.  Don’t let it grab hold.

Acknowledge what happened – you experienced both states, both sides of the coin.

Which direction do you want to go?  Remain on guard, ready to battle for control – or relax again into yourself.

The choice is yours.

To feel both sides so close together is a tool you can use.

And you will want to use this opportunity to berate yourself, to say you failed.  An easy excuse to give up on the whole idea.

These are the games your mind will play with you to keep things as they are.

Know that you don’t have to play along.

You don’t have to see the way your mind wants you to see.  It has a story to tell and so do you.
