Take the first step. Just one step.
And then another.
Each step is the first and last at the same time.
So don’t bother to count or measure where you are in comparison to where you were. That is merely looking backwards instead of forwards to where you are going.
Do not measure yourself against who you were. Keep looking towards who you want to be – the next greatest version of yourself.
Do you see how looking backwards keeps you anchored there? You are trying to pull away from that as if you had an elastic that could reach its stretch at any moment, and suddenly pull you back.
Instead, hitch yourself to a star that will pull you forward, closer, and into yourself.
Celebrate each step you take towards you – that is the only change that matters.
Where you were is a thing of the past that no longer exists. Do you want to measure yourself against something that is not there?
See instead how much of you you have become.
This will whet your appetite to move even closer to being all of you. For this is who you truly are.
There is no struggle in being you – that is what exists naturally. Trying to break away from who you’ve been is the struggle you engage in.
But you do not have to do this.
Take a step. And then another.
Your history is not important now. Your future is.
And you choose that in this present moment.
All ways and always.
One foot in front of the other – each step creating circumstances for you to be more you.
Do not look behind. The sight to see it souly in front of you.
Move fully into the light that is you. The path before you is lit brightly for you to see and follow.
But you will not see this if you are always looking behind.
Turn around and step forward. One step, leap or hop at a time.
