You started off earlier this morning thinking about the word play of re-creation and rec-reation.
Isn’t it funny that you typically associate one with being fun and relaxing while the other is stressful and difficult.
They are both one in the same.
Engaging in rec-reation is rejuvenating yourself, being who you are, doing what you enjoy most.
Is that not re-creation?
You have spent so much time not being yourself, playing the game (and becoming very skilled at it I might say), that when it comes to being yourself you find it difficult, stressful and demanding.
Doesn’t that sound backwards to you?
It does to me – moving back towards something you are not.
Being you should be the most natural experience in this world. Let it all hang out as you say.
And yet for as much as you have spent time covering yourselves with clothes, you cover your true self in the same way.
There is no fashion statement to be made when it comes to being you. There is nothing you can do to make yourself more beautiful than you already are.
Covering up your light with a shade only serves to diffuse who you are.
You laugh at people wearing lamp shades on their head at a party but this is essentially what you do all the time.
Maybe you should throw a party where everyone arrives wearing a shade of some sort and tosses it aside at the stroke of … you decide.
Instead of having a costume party to dress up in something wild or wacky, have a party to come as you truly are – to drop the masks, clothes and roles you play all day.
And yet comes forward another idea to design a costume that shows all the roles you play for others – and see how heavy that feels … until you get to toss it aside to reveal the true you inside.
See all the ways you can tie having fun to being you and to start anew.
Your rec-reation is your re-creation.
This time, remember to not put back on the “old” you when you are done with your rec-reation. Allow the re-creation of you to remain. Allow the refreshed you to take over.
You have to pay attention to this, to not fall into the ruts of old patterns that are so easy to slip into.
And re-create this space for others too.
When you change you, you cannot help but change others, for they are you.
Have fun together. The more is truly the merrier.
The more of you recreating at the same time, the faster you will all see the change in just being you.
