Gee, there seems to be a big blank void.
I am here. Always.
I will never forsake you.
Ever.
I cannot, in fact, forsake you or anyone, even he you call my son.
He did not die on the cross for you, contrary to popular thought. He died on the cross because of you.
You forgot who he was.
And so he had to find another way for you to listen, really listen, and be heard.
That happens a lot. The forgetting and not listening and the “big event” to grab our attention.
I can tell you I am always with you through all of this because we are one in the same.
That is what Jesus was trying to tell you but you could not believe him. You were not ready.
He knew who he was and who we were and who we are. Together and a part.
You needed a big event, something you couldn’t fathom without seeing for yourself, to shake you to your core, to get you to consider something else is possible.
Let’s just call it a misjudgement in timing but it did accomplish one thing – you shook yourselves up.
Eventually.
Some of you.
The events of that day caused you to look, to consider something different for a moment.
And many times that moment is all that is needed.
Jesus wasn’t going to change the world alone. Nor did he intend to have everyone think the same way all at once.
But he did know some people were open and ready to consider something new. And in that the seed was planted.
Unfortunately you took it upon yourselves to do with his message and knowledge what you desired and turned it into something else.
Wars, power, suppression to name a few. But there is also love and compassion that comes through too.
He did not want you to follow him in his footsteps as an idol to behold before you, to hold out away from you as something to attain or seek.
He wanted you to see he is you and that you have all the creation in your hands that he did too.
He is not the only one who has come here to share such messages. Nor will he be the last.
There will always be someone for you when you are ready to take the next step in what you are capable of seeing and believing.
Others have gone before you as you will go before others too. It is a big circle or chain we are connected into.
You are a part, not apart.
Always.
Do not fret about what may have taken place long ago or tomorrow. You have today, right now, to decide differently.
This life you lead is all about the discovery and reveal-ation of who you are and who you choose to be.
There is much more out there for you to discover. You can have it all at once or a little bit at a time.
Those two journeys will take you in different directions but you will always end up at the place that is the same.
Home in who you are.
You get to choose. You get to decide.
This is what this day is all about: what you choose to believe, what change you want to make, what life you want to lead.
Notice how you never say “the life you want to follow”?
You lead your life and there are many ways to do that. You get to lead by what you decide – never follow.
That is impossible – to follow your life.
And so too you should ask – who then, and why, do I choose to follow others?
This life is about you. What do you choose?
