Being Begin

MAP

Why don’t you start off again with the word play you were thinking about.

Is this going to be a pattern?

Maybe.  Maybe not.  You can make it whatever you want.  What are you afraid of?

This will become about me rather than us, you, the message, new information, new perspectives.

And you can’t offer that?

Not in the same way.  Not to the same depth.  When it’s just me there is no flow.  There’s not the energy nor the back and forth play.

That’s the word – it’s flat.

We’ll work on that.  Go back to my suggestion.

What is the word play you’ve been thinking about again recently?

That I type – seems like always – the word being when I intend to type the word begin.  My fingers take over.

That’s because they are the same word, but you may not recognize it as such.  Being to begin, the beginning.

All things begin in being.

That could wrap things up right there.

Did you want to add anything, flush that statement out a bit?

That is more than a statement.  It is a truth.  A truth you have a hard time implementing because you are creatures of habit.

What habit?

Several.  Controlling, doing, putting two and two together and getting twelve, or six.

You believe you achieve success – aka survival – by being in control through your actions.  If you want something, then do something.

When you do something you are at the helm, the one making decisions.

This is not so.

You have forgotten a very important piece.

You have a thought before you have an action.  You cannot do something before you think something.

What about the heart muscle cells or a nerve reflex?  I don’t think about those.

That is not what I am talking about.  Besides, you see those as novel and wondrous.

That means those behaviors are outside your normal way of looking at things, which is – you are in control of your behaviors or actions, except when you’re not.

Oh great.  Another exception.

No, not an exception.  A layer deeper.

When your thoughts control your actions you have to ask yourself if you are conscious of all your thoughts.

Even more precisely, how many thoughts do you think on purpose and how many thoughts are you even aware of?

I’ll tell you this – the number of thoughts you have on purpose is far less than you want to believe.

You are in control of a very small portion of your thoughts and therefore a very small portion of your actions.

How often do you live on autopilot, or say “I don’t know”, or act a certain way over and over?

These are but a few small examples of how you aren’t aware of what thoughts are controlling your actions.

And to go a little deeper again, behind your thoughts are feelings.  So feelings drive thoughts drive behaviors.

If that doesn’t scare you, it should.

You have very little control over your feelings.  What you have done instead is to not feel.

You think if you don’t feel then you have mastered your feelings, put an end to them, taken away their power over you.

I tell you this could not be further from the truth.

Your feelings go on whether you feel them or not.

Feelings are your connection to the soul, your first line of communication to that which you seek.

Shut off your feelings and you shut off your soul, or more precisely, you shut out your soul.

And as we said yesterday that is when you die inside, when you block out your access to who you are, to your soul.

So the first thing you must do is to feel again.  And to feel is to be.

Being is feeling and feeling is being.

Everything begins with being.

I wonder how many times I’m going to have to correct these typos.

You’ll be fine.  Besides, you’ll only have to correct half – the beings to begins.

But you could switch them both around and the message will be the same.

What has happened over the many years you humans have walked the earth is that you put two and two together and arrived at twelve.

You did something and you lived, or others watched you die – so they did not do that something again.

If it felt good you did it again.  If it felt bad you stopped.  If you were scared you ran away and when you felt safe you stayed.

Your filters were very primitive – live or die.

The problem came in when you associated your action with the end result.

Run until you feel safe.  Stop burning yourself means you don’t hurt.

So you can easily see you came to the conclusion that doing will create a feeling, that you saw [what] was working so you kept on believing you could control or produce your feelings by what you were doing.

What you did not catch onto was the original thought created by the original feeling.

Feeling fear led to running led to feeling safe.  Curiosity led to playing with fire which led to pain which led to stopping which led to not more burning.

You failed to see the original feeling of the original thought.

And so you are a product of thousands of years of habit and incorrect conclusions.

The good news is – you can stop.

You can form new conclusions and new habits.  You can be aware of your feelings and choose your actions from this.

You have a choice now you didn’t have before.  You have evolved to the point where you can make this choice, to choose again.

Your ancestors of long ago couldn’t.  They didn’t have the ability so they did not have the opportunity.

You do.

The question is whether or not you will choose differently with what you know now and what you are capable to do.

Your being begins all over again.
