Centre Of Attention

Okay – an interesting question came up last night during a discussion.  If we consciously or unconsciously manipulated our environment so we could evolve, does that put us humans at the centre of creation?

Yes and no.

But what’s wrong with that?  Everything is at the centre of its own creation.  That is life.

Besides – what is centre?  Can you tell me where the centre of anything is?

Well, I suppose if you fold it in half and half again you can find a centre point.

What you needed then were edges or limits.  Where are the limits to all that is? 

There is no way to locate a centre point to have everything else radiate out from it.  Everything radiates out from every point.

Everything is the centre of the Universe, of creation, and nothing is the centre of creation – both at the same time.

What was the concern?

I can’t say precisely because we didn’t go into that detail.  It was along the lines of the earth, plants, water, animals have been here much longer so it would make more sense that they were more of the creation source.  That perhaps what is going on now is Gaia is saying enough already and responding back.

Why cannot both pictures be true?  That humans have created their situation and Gaia as you call her, has created hers?

Is it not possible that you both agreed to this scenario before it even started?

Sure – makes a lot of sense.  It goes back to what perspective you’re looking from.

Don’t forget – nothing ever dies, it only changes form. Do you not think trees and plants and water has not changed itself over thousands and thousands of years?

I hadn’t though of water changing.  Animals and plants – sure.

The chemistry of your water has changed to support life in the way you need it here.  And it will change again more if you need it to.  You are a long way off of being able to do such manipulation yourselves.

For now your water is working just fine if you would leave it alone and give it time to repair itself.

Enough about that – what else?

You’ve talked about the earth being a playground, rewriting rules, etc.  Doesn’t that support the thinking we are at the centre of the universe – rightly or wrongly?

There is no right or wrong.  And you know that.

What if I said you were the centre of the universe.  Would that change anything?

I’d either freak out because of the responsibility I would feel or I would say you were pulling my leg, making a joke.

It is no joke – you are the centre of the universe – your universe.

How you see the universe is totally through your eyes.  That is why you came here – to experience that perspective aside from all that is.

There is no problem with being the centre of the universe – it’s what you do with that knowledge and how you grow from there.

Imagine the chaos when your sun was discovered to not be the centre of the universe – you rocked your world and learned to accept it.

But you continued to think you were the centre of your universe.

Babies don’t know their world doesn’t revolve around them.  They learn that – work with it and then come back around (sometimes) as adults to see what being the centre means.

The world is not flat, nor is the universe.  It’s okay to have one thing make the rules that impact other things.  And those things get to respond.

That’s an experience.

But also know that it’s not a one way street – those other things are doing things to make you respond as well.

Who’s on top is all a matter of perspective.  And while you’re arguing about who’s on top, life goes on.

See it as a philosophical debate or interaction to explore your understanding and experience of life to an ever deeper level.

For what you know now will change once again which will change your perceptions of the world and how it is working.

That is part of life.

Place your attention and focus on what you are doing with your knowledge and awareness, and how that interacts with life – all of life.

That is the creation of you and all that you are.
