There are a thousand topics we could talk about today. Why are you hesitant to pick one?
They all sound like we’re going over the same material again and again.
You think things have changed to deem that repetition unnecessary?
No – I think people get bored with hearing the same thing over and over.
Like they get it but don’t do it. In one ear and out the other.
I suppose you could say that. There is an intellectual “I get it” but that does not translate into their actual thoughts and behaviors.
What makes you get it?
Experience. Stepping back and seeing from a new perspective. An opening meets idea at just the right time.
When are you most resistant?
When I want something to be a particular way. Trying to make something the way I think it should be. When I’m frustrated.
Like throwing a temper tantrum?
That’s funny. Thanks for the laugh. You made me lose my thought for a moment – it circled back.
I believe I’m most resistant when I don’t have that second objective viewpoint – that view as the observer watching me do whatever I’m doing.
When I lose myself in a single view, not being the observer at the same time, then I fall into those behaviors that close me off to change.
So you have a split personality then.
Is suppose you could say that. They don’t feel split. They feel like the observer is the larger container watching over the other “me” or the physically present me.
Many times though the observer me is acting through the physically present me – there is no separation. Other times – less often – the physically present me blocks off the observer me.
That’s when I’m likely to fall into push-a-rope, dog-with-a-bone mode.
You are very forthcoming. Getting naked almost.
Well, you know I’m having thoughts of wanting not to post this or change directions. To hide. But a deal’s a deal. This conversation happened for a reason and I said I was going to be visible, no more hiding.
By the way and speaking of hiding, I do want to point out that our discussions of the Hide-N-Seek game has made things more visible. It’s harder to play Hide-N-Seek with myself now.
Very good. Count that as a huge success. How do you feel about that?
I feel silly when I call myself on things. The jig is up.
It also takes a whole lot of power and energy out of seeking. To continue to hide what you know in order to keep seeking and keep the game going takes a whole lot of energy.
In fact, I’d say it takes an increasing amount of energy. The more you acknowledge your knowingness the more energy it takes to cover it up.
And so …
Why expend all that energy to keep seeking what you know. That energy could be used to move forward, to do what you want to be doing. We would gain back a whole lot of time, space and energy if we stopped expending so much time, space and energy to keep seeking.
Say. Do we like to seek as part of our nature? Our natural curiosity leads us to seek?
Yes, but in the wrong or misguided direction. To seek what you already know is not curiosity. It is comfort.
Curiosity is about uncovering what you already don’t know. Curiosity leads to expansion. The seeking you do is an endless circle round and round.
Is that why we have repeated messages here over and over?
Very good. It’s all part of the same game.
If you would stop the insanity of your seeking game and adopt some new rules you would move forward, upward and outward.
That is the expansion you truly seek – to move on to become more fully who you truly are.
Going around and around does not accomplish that one bit.
But I will go round and round with you as long as you wish. I have all the time in the world for you because I have no time at all.
I will wait with you, for you to show up ready for a new game to play.
Roll on.
