Happy To Be

Are you happy?  Truly happy?

Does your happiness become expressed outwardly in everything you do – or are you trying to do things to become happy?

There is a big difference and it is important you know and understand this difference.

To be happy always first and see life – even the worst moments – from a place of happiness is a shift in perspective.  It is seeing the world through an entirely different viewpoint.

Did you know you can be happy even when you are mad or sad? 

You can feel two emotions at the same time.  You are not a singular being.  You should try it some time.

Be happy you can experience a diversity of emotions and experiences.  That alone is a reason to be happy when you are mad.

You will find your awareness of two emotions at once will alter your experience of each.

You are a complex being capable of grand things.  Seize this opportunity to bring the fullest experience of life into your being by being that first.


When you try to do things to make you happy you are doing two things that aren’t wrong but are going against the flow of life.

First you are giving your power away – placing your power in something else for you to get it back.

You always had your power.  You were already happy.

By placing your power outside yourself you pretend to not be happy.  And that leads to the second backwards motion.

By placing your power outside yourself and by believing something outside yourself will make you happy – you now enter into the game of Hide-N-Seek.

When you do something to make you happy you believe you lack happiness in the first place.  This can never be true.

You cannot lack happiness.  You can hide from it but you cannot lack it.

And so you expend your energy once again trying to do all these things trying to seek that which you already have.

So if it is your desire to be happy then be happy.  It is your choice to feel the happiness you already are or to blind yourself to it.

Are you happy to feel alive?  Are you happy for the air you breathe?  How about happiness from learning something new?  Or the happiness in struggle as you make your way through something you don’t find easy?

Can you feel the tingle of being alive in everything you do?

That is your happiness coming through.

Don’t get lost in the doing.  It is very easy to lose yourself there.  As you say, it is easy to lose sight of the forest because of the trees.

Even when you feel yourself stuck in the trees, remember you also know the forest to be too.

I go back to my original question.

Are you happy?  Truly happy?

If not, then what doing are you putting in the way?  If you cannot see or feel the happiness in what you are doing then you are doing the wrong way, you are doing in the opposite direction from where you want to go.

Your doing is an expression, an outcome, of your happiness – not the other way around.
