Go forward into this day once again. New treasures await for you to discover. Are you ready to find them?
For that is the key – you need to be ready, open, willing and able.
That is all it takes. All you seek awaits for you you right before your very eyes.
I tell you this again and again. A new life, the change you seek, is that simple.
But today I want you to listen to yourself and take notes.
How many Yeah Buts do you have stored in your pocket? How clever with your excuses can you become? Is the time drawing near to become even more creative, perhaps wild in what you use to hold yourself back?
Take note of them all. Write them down.
Do not hold them in your head for you will forget and they become useful another day.
Create this list and carry it with you. Every excuse you have, every excuse that you use – write it down.
Put a check mark beside each one as you use it again throughout your day and your week.
Yes, pay attention for at least an entire week. You will have a book to write by the time we are done.
Watch which excuses gather marks and which ones don’t. You’ll see which handy excuses you use that you don’t even realize you use anymore.
You will see which ways you hold yourself back and which ways have no holding power for you.
How ridiculous do your excuses become as you search for something new to use? For you will become tired of your own broken record.
Your standard excuses will lose their holding power as you pay more attention to them.
Somewhere in the back of your mind you will start to feel like you’ve been caught in a lie (the lies you tell yourself) and you will find something new.
But it will have to be something even grander than before to be able to fool you. How far out in left field are you willing to go?
Do not stop your list even if you think you are done.
Listen to yourself over and over again.
You will either come to the truth or you will try.
Either way you have broken the lie.
