What is it that you want?
I keep coming back to that. Do you know why? So you will get tired of the question and finally answer it truthfully.
What is it that you truly want out of life, for your life? You never thought it would be such a tough question, did you?
To live a purposeful life is to go below the surface of what you want, or more so what you believe you want, to uncover the truth of your being. You have held it hidden for so long the truth actually hurts. The core of your being, your desires, hurts to see the light.
You know when you’ve been in the dark for long periods of time and then you turn on the light – your eyes hurt – it hurts to see. But you adapt to the light very quickly. For when you turn off the light again you stumble around because you cannot see.
Keep the light on – way bright – so you will never be in the dark again, even if your light starts to dim. Bring your light to your truth. Bring your truth out in the open for all to see.
I have to say this over and over so you do not hide again – ever. Your true desires are deeper than you think. In fact, they may not even be what you think they are. They could be totally different once you begin to look very deep.
But you will know them because they will be you. They will feel like you. You will begin to feel like you, like an old familiar place, a shirt that take you somewhere else, a blanket you snuggle into.
When you find yourself wriggling into your desires, into your light – you will know you are in your truth. You will want to wriggle into it so every cell of your body is in contact with it and you need to move no more. You can let out a deep sigh of sheer comfort and joy. (That is where the song came from.)
Find your true truth.
It is calling to you. Here it call from beneath all those hidden layers – like an echo from a canyon far away. Yet it is right here – never distant. Always present.
You are the best present to yourself you will ever find under any tree. You are here waiting to be unwrapped this Christmas. Unwrap yourself for all to see. Rip the paper off if you like – neat and tidy is not the goal.
You are.
Merry Christmas!
