Well, here we are at two weeks.
What have you learned? Anything?
A few things. At – tension. Feeling the air. Remembering to play with life rather than take it so seriously. I always find it interesting when I’m typing these out it’s like I’m reading them for the first time – or at least a portion of every one. I see something new in what was written as if I hadn’t written it myself. I always find that interesting and surprising.
What else?
I’m enjoying this process.
Good. That’s what was meant to be.
I must say doing this every day has not been the challenge I thought it could be. I enjoy this time together.
I do too. I find it fun too.
Let’s begin then.
What do you see differently than you did before? Anything? Nothing? All in good time. Don’t be hard on yourself – there is no time line to get this.
Don’t be bored. Or exhilarated. Just be you for that is all there is. Take the time, make the time to smell the roses and simply enjoy being here. Even in your worst moment.
What is it you want to learn about yourself? How often do you ask that question of yourself? Are you so busy learning about the world around you that you forget to learn about the world within you and beyond you?
Take the time before something happens to see what is going on instead of after. That is foresight. Because then you create what you desire.
Create, create, create what you desire. I talk about that a lot for that is all there is for you to do. That is your biggest lesson.
Did you not learn your times tables until they became natural – except for the ones you forget and always have trouble remembering? Those are the spots to pay attention to. Do not ignore them – give them more of your attention so you can create more fully.
Forgetting is part of the game here. For if you remembered everything you would not be here. You would be playing no game at all. So don’t be afraid of the loss in memory. Don’t be mad at yourself. See those points as your opportunity to play the game more deeply.
To ignore what you don’t know is to play the same game once again. Don’t give up on yourself for that is what you came to play, to learn and experience more deeply.
You forget and don’t remember so you could [remember]. When you know the 9 times table off by heart except a few – move into those instead of reciting what you know.
What you don’t know holds more exhilaration. Remember the feeling of discovery? You said it felt exciting to remember what you already knew. That is what forgetting, then remembering allows you to do.
Curiosity would not be known if you knew everything, remembered everything. It is the lure of the unknown that keeps you alive and life exciting. There is a natural attraction to seek out (in a good way) that which you do not know more fully. That is why there is an eternal drive to seek out God – the largest unknown there is.
The largest unknown is you. You can never know yourself completely that you will cease to surprise yourself – to surprise me. The invitation is there for you to accept or not – that is your choice – but you will always have an attraction to the unknown.
For some it is to be feared and others it is a great source of thrills and excitement. But the attraction is still there that can’t be ignored. You will always be in relationship to the unknown.
