The Colour Of Christmas

Quick – Christmas colours.  What pops into your mind first?  Red, maybe green … or perhaps white?

How about pink?

Pink? – what’s with that!

Last night I realized the closer we get to Christmas the more we fall into Pink Time.  Schedules are tossed out the window along with all good intentioned plans.   Spur of the moment becomes the norm and “we’ll get to that later …” is commonly heard.

The busyness of the season gives way to the ever expanding relaxation of expectations.  Shoulds’ and ‘coulds’ disappear faster than shortbread melting in your mouth  only to be replaced with “yes, let’s …!” and “I feel like …”.

Christmas is a time when (the royal) we give ourselves permission to simply be and do what we feel inspired to do … if only for a moment, ten minutes or a blissful entire day!  Our lives are so structured these days we forget to pay attention to what we want to be doing, letting what we should be doing rule the day.

Why Pink Time?  Because when we first started to give ourselves permission to just be and do what we felt like doing, we had to mark the calendar for a visible reminder … and the only marker to be found was pink.

If you’re looking for a gift that keeps on giving this year – consider giving yourself and your loved ones the gift of pink.

Start small if you have to and watch it grow.
