Gentle Giants

A little factoid on TV caught my eye and sent me pondering.  The powerful little tidbit indicated Native American shamans believed the greatest power came from gentleness.  Now wouldn’t that change the world!

Imagine for a moment a world where differences were settled by being more gentle and giving.  What if wars were waged by increasing gentleness shown to the other side.  How would the environment look if all natural resources were harvested, mined or treated with kindness.  What would conditions would children, animals or the poor live in if they were exploited by gentleness.

I do believe the shamans were speaking about a genuine gentleness sourced from the heart.  This type of kindness is given without attachments, obligations or expectations for anything in return.  Gentleness from the heart is unlimited and accessible to all. 

So truly, the quickest path to power calmly awaits from within.
