Perfect by Design

A new path to change.

Here's a radical thought.  The world is Perfect just as it is, in this moment.  If the world wasn't Perfect just as it is, in this moment, then it would be different.

Here's another radical thought.  Your/my Life is Perfect just as it is, in this moment.  If your/my Life wasn't Perfect just as it is, in this moment, then it would be different.

It's taken me a long time to be able to entertain the possibility of these thoughts being true given all the war, destruction and abuse I see in the world.  And God truly knows I am not living my most extraordinary life, nor do I desire to deal with what I'm dealing with right now.  But it's here. so I do.

My purpose in seeing everything as perfect is a way to not go crazy.  The world and my life may not be ideal or what I expect but it is all here and whole.  If I see something as broken then I have this incredible urge to make things "right" or to "fix it".  And that's where the craziness begins.  Because my idea of "right" or "fixed" may not be what you or another thinks is "right" or "fixed".  So then my actions cause you to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place.  The only thing that really needs fixing is my expectation of how things should be.

When I see the world and my Life as already Perfect I give up the massive struggle to change things that already are.  But this doesn't mean I give up on the possibility of the way things could be.  And herein lies the subtle but important difference.

"Should" implies there is something wrong with how things are.  More honestly, things are not how I would like or expect them to be.  And the right-fighting begins.

"Could" implies there is opportunity for change, for doing things differently without invalidating others opinions or the past.  When I see things "could" be different I must get buy-in from all those affected and involved.

Together we can create change with greater impact than ever imagined before.
